The big-wheeled trail machine from Santa Cruz is back and has been updated for greater capability. Now sitting on 150mm of VPP suspension, the Hightower sees a bump in travel and capability, now equivalent to the Santa Cruz Bronson but with a 29-inch wheel. That's right, the Hightower receives a bump in travel in both the front and rear, geometry improvements, and all the new frame and suspension updates to level the playing field with the Bronson, perfect for die-hard 29'er riders. A longer reach, wheelbase, and chainstays across all sizes ensure more stability, while the slacker 64. 2-degree head tube angle lengthens out our front end for confidence in steeper terrain and a more balanced bike. The VPP pivot locations have been moved lower and more forward in the frame, reducing anti-squat characteristics to provide a more active suspension. The more active suspension throws down more traction when climbing and descending, which leads to more efficiency all over the mountain. Carryover features on the Hightower 4 include a threaded bottom bracket, Glove box internal frame storage, chainstay and downtube protection, a geometry flip chip, and silent internal cable routing.
