Before the advent of the loop to loop line to leader connection, the NailKnot was Rising's go to knot. Still is - on their streamer system, and for our friends who chase Steelhead. Many of us still prefer the NailKnot for joining leader to line. Rising turned brass rod on their lathe until they created the perfect knot tool, and then added a stout stainless wire to aid in untangling casting knots in a line. Turns out the knot tool makes a great fish whistle, for those of you who like a little more positive vibe on the water, and the wire a handy cleaning tool for when it gets clogged with fish catching mojo.
