This ice axe has a Technical or Type 2 rating, which means it is super durable and can withstand any abuse you can put it through on the mountain. A slightly curved aluminum shaft is lightweight and includes a fold-out handrest to aid our grip and control of the axe. A steel adze and pick make short work out of steep terrain, and a steel spike can penetrate the ice on the flatter ground for stability. The Attila Tec Ice Axe includes grip tape to enhance our grip on the shaft, and the head can be fitted with an accelerator for easier penetration into hard ice.
