Many of you are probably familiar with eeBrakes, and they're pretty much the only brakes that we know of that drop some serious grams that still work well enough that we wouldn't hesitate running them on our own bikes. It's ideal for a high-end weight saving upgrade that doesn't sacrifice on braking power.  But because of the company's small size, its ability to offer these brakes to those wanting to dole out the cash for them has been limited, but the recent partnership with Cane Creek has changed that. With Cane Creek's larger production capabilities, eeBrakes G4 Caliper Brake is now available for anyone looking to upgrade their stopping performance while still providing exceptional modulation without the need to jump on the disc-brake bandwagon. The body of the caliper is made from a strategic mix of high-grade aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel bits, and the resulting design boasts impressive strength and stiffness, which increases modulation and braking power. At the top, the cable runs into the caliper at the center rather than to the side as found in most rim brake calipers. EeBrakes calls this Cross Cable Path, and it moves the brake cable out of the wind for increased aerodynamic advantages. The eeBrake G4 is a wider design optimized for 22 – 28mm rims, comes with a stiffer black arch spring, a receives a revised one-piece center adjuster with built-in resistance for easier adjustment. The Cane Creek eeBrakes Caliper Brake is compatible with frames using conventional center brake mount systems, Campy, Shimano, and SRAM levers, and Shimano-style brake pads. Brake pads are not included.
