The Betalight 45 Backpack is Black Diamond's superb new offering for ultralight backpacking, giving us the minimalist pack we need to cover monster mileage while leaving nothing but a trail of dust in our wake. The pack weighs under two pounds, and the lightweight Ultra 200 material pulls double-duty with reliable waterproofing and thru-hike capable durability to keep our daily mileage consistent no matter the on-trail conditions. The easily customizable design allows us to remove the hip belt, frame stays, and foam back panel to meet our needs for any foray into the forests and mountains, and four side compression straps can be used to lash gear to the exterior of the pack when we need some extra room. The pack utilizes running vest-inspired shoulder straps to keep the pack comfortable and secure across our chest and offers quick access pockets to stash snacks for quickly refueling on the move.
