Why We Like The Daylite Plus 20L Backpack
One of the most versatile packs in Osprey's collection, we like the ingeniously designed Osprey Daylite Plus Backpack because it is a roomy daypack that attaches to larger Osprey packs on longer adventures. The relatively compact, easy-carrying size lends itself to everything from spirited hikes up towering peaks to sightseeing along tropical coastlines and jungle ruins.

Returning
So sad to return this. I love the color and overall design look of the backpack. It is also incredibly comfortable. The straps are cushy even though they seem quite thin, and they are also set a good distance apart so they don't rub your neck at all. The grab handle also lays flat which I love. So why return it? Primarily because the bottom of the backpack is constructed/sewn at a steep angle so there is no way to stand the backpack up on the bottom. To set it down it must be laid down completely on its front or back. It doesn't matter what is in or not in it. It comes to a very sharp and stiff point at the back. . . So much so that it is even impossible to lean up against something if the ground/surface it's on is at all smooth. I hike with a backpack in addition to visiting theme parks with a backpack. I do not want to have to worry about holding the backpack up while I dig through it and retrieve things. You have to hold it up while digging through it so it doesn't fall over and then continue holding it up while you use whatever it is you retrieved. If you don't it's just going to fall right over onto its front. . . . Which then can spill the contents and gets the pack dirty. I cannot understand why a backpack would be designed in a way that doesn't allow it to stand up. . . . The backpack also feels smaller / more narrow than one would expect from the capacity. The contents in the main pocket do not feel very accessible. I had some small binoculars in the front pack and had to remove them in order to remove what I wanted from the main pocket. You can't dig around in there effectively because it doesn't open up very wide so you have to remove the things that are on top to reach the things on the bottom. This ends up with a big mess of items spread all over the place while you were also trying to hold up the backpack. I did a day hike with it once and that was more than enough. The sunscreen had slipped to the bottom of the main pouch and I had to take out the binoculars in the front pouch, the jacket in the stuff pouch, loosen the cross straps attached the front pouch, and remove the soft-sided lunch container from the main pouch to get the sunscreen out. And then of course the backpack needed to lie down completely next to all the items in the dirt so that I could have two hands-free to use the sunscreen. It was honestly a bit comical. We then stopped at a restaurant and since I had my wallet in it I just brought the backpack in and could not lean it up against The bench I was seated on and since it was a bench I couldn't hang it on the back like I would a chair. . . . This left the backpack laying flat on its back on the dirty restaurant floor. Now I know to check if a backpack can stand up before I buy it!

Daylite Plus
I own about 6 different Osprey packs in various sizes. The Daylite Plus is my everyday pack and I absolutely love it. Well built and well thought out. If it ever wears out (unlikely), I’ll just buy another one. Can’t beat it.

I now proudly have a
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I now proudly have a small collection of Osprey Packs! This Daylite Plus pack is perfect for my days in the office and running about town. It is made sturdy enough to endure anything I need to do and still stylish enough to pass as a normal person in the world who looks cool! Not the woods dwelling gnome that I actually am. The bottle holders on each side is a sign of hydration minded design that is placed into the profile of the pack as opposed to sticking out the sides. I like the kangaroo pouch that holds a lot of my snacks. Also, the 3 inner compartments are perfect for placing the items I need in separate compartments; no digging to look for what I need. Thank you, Osprey, for another quality pack that fits my needs!

Great little day or ruck
Great little day or ruck pack. It appears built to last a long, long time. My wife bought one also. She had a hard time choosing between the Daylite and the Daylite plus and ultimately chose the Daylite version.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great pack! Had it for 10+ years through hikes and vacations. Elastics finally starting giving out, sent it in and Osprey ended up replacing my pack. 10/10 performance and 10/10 company who stands by their products.
